My review:

To me, this is not your ordinary team play shooter game. You need to constantly adapt to the changes of strategies every rounds and still be able to wipe out the other team. As a beginner, I recommend you to understand the mechanics of the game, for example, getting used to the guns (recoil patterns), maps and the usual spots people camp etc. Besides that, please don't jump straight into Competitive! Start by playing Casual, Demolition, Arms Race or even Deathmatch. Safer and easier for newbies.

I'm most likely going to talk a lot about Competitive (purely because I love it). So, this game mode is a ranked match. There's a whole rank system involved in this. When you first start the game, you have no rank at all. To get a rank you must win 10 competitive matches, although for every 2 wins you'll get a 21 hours cooldown. (This was recently implemented to avoid hackers and smurfs.) After winning 10 matches, you'll get assigned to a proper "rank class" which suits you best.

Smurfs: High rank players with alt accounts playing against Lower rank players.

If you get into Silver, don't feel bad. It's normal for beginners to get into Silvers. Now, to rank up there's no definite way for it. Some people say it depends on the wins:losses rate, while others think it depends on your position on the scoreboard and the amount of MVPs you get. For me, I could say I was lucky. After winning 10 matches, I was assigned to Silver Elite Master (SEM). Later that day, I won a match and was promoted to Gold Nova 1 (and I kept ranking up that whole week).

Here are a few things you should have when playing Competitive: a headset, a microphone (it's faster to talk when calling out than typing) and a team of friends. I personally think it's best to have a team to queue with because you know them, you know their skills and capabilities, plus it's easier to communicate. When I started playing, I had no friends to queue with so I had to solo-queue a lot. Solo-queueing is so bad because sometimes you'll get bad teammates, trolls and AFKs. To avoid this, add people along the way. This worked for me very well.

Last but not least, remember to always be positive throughout the game even if you're losing. Don't be that one salty player and throw the game. (Everyone will hate you for that!!) Also, keep on practicing and have fun.

The Future.

The word itself gives me shivers.

Being a young adult means that you should know what your ambition is and your goals in life. Unfortunately, I have failed figuring out those two things. Ever since I was a kid I had no idea what I wanted to be. All the things that I’ve said to my teachers and friends were a lie. I simply said them because I wanted to pretend as if I had my life plans sorted, when in reality I haven’t.

All I’ve been telling myself is that, “I’ll just go where life leads me”. And honestly, the road I’m in is pretty decent. Although it might be coming to an end. It’s finally the time for me to actually think things through and make a decision. Unless, I want to end up living in an alley and ask for money from strangers passing by (which I don’t want).

Basically, what people have been telling me is to do research online. Like find out about different courses from multiple Universities/Colleges. Sounds easy right? Not for me though. Considering that I have no clue what my ambition is and talents/interests are (excluding video games). I personally think that I don’t have a particular talent? or anything amazing that would help me make money or make me look more appealing compared to everyone else.

I think I’m screwed. I’ll most likely graduate from University next year and I’m still clueless. I was thinking of doing a gap year but it seems like a really bad idea though. But then again, I don’t want to be forced to choose a course (or path) that would make me unhappy and stressful. The whole point of deciding and planning your future is purely based on your interests and whether it makes you happy or not, right? I don’t see the point in pursuing something that doesn’t benefit you at all.

Then again this is what I think/feel.
IT’S NOT LIKE LIFE WOULD LISTEN TO ME.

p/s: Dear future, please be nice to me.

Review: Payday 2.

About this game:
PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew - Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains - as they descend on Washington DC for an epic crime spree.

The new CRIMENET network offers a huge range of dynamic contracts, and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to big league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY. While in DC, why not participate in the local community, and run a few political errands?

Up to four friends co-operate on the hits, and as the crew progresses the jobs become bigger, better and more rewarding. Along with earning more money and becoming a legendary criminal comes a new character customization and crafting system that lets crews build and customize their own guns and gear.

My review:

Main Menu

This game is a first person shooter (FPS) game, which is my favourite kind of video game. It costs you $19.99 excluding all of the downloadable contents (DLC), which sadly needs to be bought separately. Currently, there are about 22 DLCs that can be bought with the latest one being ‘The Alesso Heist’. Also, you get to collect 324 achievements!

I recommend you to find a group of friends to play this game with, maybe about 2-3 friends. This is a team play based game, without constant communication with one another it won’t be fun for anyone. Moving on, you start on Level 0 and you’ll level up each time you complete a heist. Note: This depends on how many experience (EXP) that you’ll gain after every heist, each heist is different. The harder it is, the more EXP and money you’ll get. You get to choose to play on Normal, Hard, Very Hard, Overkill or Death Wish.

Inventory

This is how your inventory looks like. You can purchase guns ranging from pistols to sniper rifles as your primary or secondary weapon. Besides that, melees and equipments like grenades/pipe bombs/molotoves are handy too.

Skills

Perk Decks

Along the way, you can unlock new skills and perk decks to help you in game. My personal favourite would be the Mastermind + Fugitive + Grinder perk combo.
Here are some of my perk decks + skills; Grinder PerkStealth Build.
In my opinion, this games really sucks out all the energy in you. You have to constantly think of a strategy in order to survive the heist. Other than that, majority of the heists are fun to play and amazing. Also, you get cool masks to wear.
